Tibet Film Festival 2009

The Tibet House Trust in partnership with Through an Exile Lens Project hold a successful Tibet Film Festival 2009 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising against China's rule and 50 years in exile for the Tibetan exile community. 

Joanna Lumley, actress has launched a Tibet Film Festival 2009 at the House of Parliament on 4 March and then goes on tour of other eleven cities in UK (Oxford, Exeter, Newcastle, Southampton, Sheffield, Glasgow, Hebden Bridge, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Manchester. The aim of this festival is to enable audiences to gain a deeper understanding of the Tibet issue and the value of Tibet's unique culture, art and way of life encompassing Buddhist principles of compassion and non-violence.
