How do I become a Sponsor?

1) Download the sponsorship form, Sponsorship Application Form  

2) Choose whether you want to sponsor a person from the 5 different institute, please check our sponsorship section and case studies to see who will benefit.

3) Fill in the details of your bank if you want to pay by direct debit or leave it blank

4) Please tick the Gift Aid Declaration box if you are a UK tax payers.

5) Sign and Return the form to the secretary

6) We will assign you a beneficiary, according to your choice of an Institution

7) From time to time you will receive correspondences form the institution and your beneficiaries, for school children's you will get school reports and letters. go top

 

Does all my money go to the beneficiaries?

Yes, all the money we receive for sponsorship go directly towards the education fee, cost of books and stationery, meals, boarding and basic maintenance of the beneficiaries.  The money works out to roughly 950 Indian Rupees a month, around 30 rupees a day per person.  go top

 

How can I pay for my sponsorship?

1) You can pay monthly/ quarterly / annually which ever is more convenient to you.

2) You can pay by cheque, direct debit or postal order. Direct debit is the most convenient for us. 

3) We sent a receipt for all cheques, postal orders or cash we receive. We do not sent a receipt for a direct debit but will acknowledge it if you specify for it. go top

 

How can I pay from Abroad and how much?

Now the easiest way to pay is by internet, just click on donate now buttons and choose sponsorship so we know where the money should go towards. We have sponsors from USA, Canada, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland and Singapore. Many choose to pay by cheque yearly, some quarterly. . You could also pay by Bank Transfer. Both services are charged by the Bank.  For cheques, our bank charges us £ 9 for conversion. For Bank transfers you bank will probably charge you a fix sum of money. go top

 

What is Gift Aid Declaration?

It applies to UK income or capital gains tax payers only. Gift Aid Form. Gift Aid Declaration help us to claim tax (28p off every £1 you donate) from the Inland Revenue. So please fill a Gift Aid form and post it to us if you give us any money. go top

 

How does "GiveNow" work?

GiveNow, is website through which you can sign up and give to charities. You can monitor your giving and charities can monitor the money they receive. It has secure online giving. To give to Tibet House Trust, please click the link or to find out more visit GiveNow. go top

 

How does "Give As You Earn" work?

This is tax effective way to pay directly through your weekly or monthly salary, since you are not taxed on your donation you pay less. To find out more please visit allaboutgiving . go top

How do sign up for Tibetan Classes?

The Tibetan classes are for young Tibetans, age 5 - 14.  There are two groups at the present and lessons held every fortnight on Saturdays, please contact Mr. Tsering Dhundup, tsering.gonkatsang@orinst.ox.ac.uk for more information on private Tibetan lessons or joining the Saturday Tibetan classes for young Tibetans.  go top

 

Why do you have a ".co.uk" if you are a charitable organization?

We were given a ".co.uk" domain name with the BT "Internet Business Pack", (our telephone and internet service provider). That is why we have a ".co.uk" rather than an ".org" or ".org.uk", which is the norm for most charitable organisations. go top

 

Do you have any voluntary work?

No, we do not have any voluntary position at the moment. Most of our work at the Trust is office based admin liaising between the funders and project partner implementing the work. Our project partners carry out the work and we monitor and audit the project using independent analysts.  go top
