Ngoenga School LogoNgoenga School For Tibetan Children with Special needs

The Ngoenga School for Tibetan Disabled Children is first of its kind to established in the Tibetan Community. The School is in fact an emanation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama-His Holiness laid the cornerstone of series of action that culminated in its establishment.  These disabled children certainly are not without talent, but had hitherto remained bereft of means to develop themselves.  Thus, the school strives to create an environment wherein our disabled children  could progress to their fullest capacity.

Some Case studies

Chemi NamdrolChemi Namdrol, was born in 1998 to a poor family in  Jawalakhel, Nepal.  Her parents work in the local handicraft centre weaving carpets and have two other children.

she is a bright, happy young girl with cerebral palsy that has effected both her lower limbs.

She is capable of doing well in ordinary school but due to her parents poverty it will be difficult for them send her to school beyond the local infant and primary schools.  On top she also needs extra care and help sometimes.

DawaDawa, was born deaf and mute.  Both his parents passed away due to tuberculosis and he has been living with his Uncle.  His Uncle has his on family and are very poor, and could not afford to sent him to school that can give support for his disabilities.  Many schools just do not have the facilities or the staff to work with children who are deaf or mute.

Lobsang TashiLobsang Tashi, has Down Syndrome and some behavior difficulties.  He is born to a poor and large family of farmers.  Their livelihood is dependent on the harvest of their small plot of land,  and their income is often unreliable due to the poor weather in the area. He would have had very chance in ordinary schools and would have probably end up at home.

These  children and the school needs your help to sponsor them to give them an education and a hope for better things. We have 10 new cases of Children for whom we are desperately seeking sponsors.

The school needs about £68 ($100) a month per child to ensure that they can run effectively.  Due to special needs of the children and specialist staff at the school, the cost per child is considerably higher than at ordinary school for a child. Because of these high cost we are trying to find four sponsors per child to spread the cost (£17 a month) for each child.  Please download an application and return it to us.
