Torture Survivors Rehabilitation Centre

Every year about 2500 new Tibetan Refugees of all ages escape Tibet. They have often been imprisoned by China for their political and nationalistic activities.  These heroes of Tibet are often left with many mental and physical problems from their long imprisonment and tortures.  The Centre helps them with medical help, psychiatric therapy and prepare them for life in exile, through basic skills and education.

They also provide immediate medications for the newly arrived from their long and arduous escape over the Himalayan mountain. Many come with problems of exhaustion, frostbite, malnutrition and emotional pains.

Old Peoples' Home

There are increasing number of destitute/poor old people who have no family support because they have no children or relatives.  They are usually helped by their neighbours as much as possible but often they need more care and have to be placed in old peoples home.  Without support and help, many are too poor to afford the fees. The Trust was able to assist in building extensions to old peoples homes and supporting their maintenance.
