After
coming into exile, His Holiness the Dalai Lama placed education as one of the
highest priorities of his leadership in his quest to preserve the Tibetan
culture in exile, believing that the Tibetan children are the main source
of hope for a future Free Tibet.
Ngoenga
School, opened in March 2000, was the first Tibetan school for
children with special needs like hearing and impaired speech , cerebral
palsy, learning difficulties and dyslexia.
The school through its specialist staffs, volunteers, medical facilities is able
to offer the care, attention and the right environment for them to
learn, develop and explore their potential to the fullest. The children
have shown with the right help that they have the talent and desire to be
self dependant and be an able contribute in the community and
society. So please help the school and students by
sponsoring a child. Some

Department
of Religion and Culture (R&C), was established in
1960 as one of the major departments of CTA. As our religion is one
of the most important part of our life, culture and identity, there
is a great need to preserve and promote it to ensure our national heritage. Also
due to the Chinese destruction and persecution of religion in
Tibet, the need to protect our heritage is even more vital. There are over 200
monasteries and nunneries for the community in exile accomodating
about 20,000 monks and
nuns. R&C needs help with the monks and nuns, who are
destitute, old and those who have recently escaped from Tibet. Sample
